TRANSLATION AND TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION SERVICES

REG International offers a variety of services dealing with translation and preparation of technical documentation for every need and occasion. We can put together a wide variety of technical documentation and perform all the required translations as well.

Technical documentation is a must for any type of equipment and has many applications (see a list of types of technical documentation below). Packages of technical documentation are supplied with the equipment for use by the buyer; they are also vital for obtaining GOST R Certificates of Conformity, Rostechnadzor (formerly Gosgortechnadzor) and Gosenergonadzor Permits, Expert Sanitary-Epidemiological Approvals, and for registering equipment with the aforementioned Russian federal agencies.

We can also perform any required translations (with conversions to metric units or without), including instructions, manuals, brochures, catalogues, drawings, P&I diagrams, calculations, specifications, databooks and many other types of documents. We can even translate graphics and preserve the same layout as the original document.

Our engineering experience assures that the translations and the documentation packages we prepare will be complete, correct, and relevant to the equipment or goods you are shipping.

In addition to the hard copies, we can also provide you with a modifiable electronic copy of the documentation, which is useful if you ever want to make changes to it in the future. We can work with and produce documents/files in a variety of formats, including:

    • all Microsoft Office formats (.doc, .xls, .rtf, .ppt, etc.);
    • Adobe Acrobat (.pdf);
    • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other graphic formats (.jpg/.jpeg, .gif, .psd., .tif, .ai, etc.);
    • AutoCAD (.dwg, etc.);
    • and many others.

Our complete translation/technical documentation services include:

(1) Translation and preparation of general technical documentation, such as installation and maintenance manuals for different kinds of equipment, or any other technical documentation.

(2) Translation and preparation of format-specific technical documentation for equipment under the jurisdiction of Rostechnadzor (formerly Gosgortechnadzor) or Gosenergonadzor of the Russian Federation, such as:

    • pressure vessels
    • boilers and steam generators
    • heat exchangers
    • load lifting equipment
    • high pressure pipelines
    • burners of various kinds

This documentation includes technical passports, welding qualifications and procedures, test reports and procedures, certificates, and ASME Code calculations, all prepared in accordance with the Government Standards of the Russian Federation (GOST R) and applicable to inspection and monitoring bodies, such as Rostechnadzor (formerly Gosgortechnadzor) and Gosenergonadzor. This documentation will allow you or your client to register equipment installed on the territory of the Russian Federation.

(3) Preparation and issuing of technical passports, including generic technical passports, as well as format-specific passports for pressure vessels, load-lifting equipment, explosion-proof electrical equipment, etc. These passports serve as sources of information for use and maintenance of the equipment and are also a requisite of registration under Rostechnadzor (formerly Gosgortechnadzor) or Gosenergonadzor.

(4) Translation and preparation of complete packages of technical documentation for your equipment and goods. TYPES OF TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION
In accordance with GOST-2.601-95, ESKD (Unified System of Design Documentation), and PB 10-115-96 all equipment shipped to the Russian Federation must be furnished with one or more (depending on type of equipment) of the following types of technical documentation:

 Operation manual A document containing information about the design, principles of operation, characteristics (properties) of the item, its component parts, and instructions necessary for the correct and safe operation of the item (operation for its designated purpose, maintenance, repair, storage, and transportation) and for evaluation of its technical condition for determination of the necessity of sending it in for repairs, as well as information regarding the utilization/salvage of the item and its component parts.
2.
 Installation, start-up, and adjustment manual A document containing information necessary for the installation, setup, start-up, adjustment, breaking-in, and putting the item and its component parts into use at the site of its application.
3.
 Logbook A document containing information attesting the manufacturer's warranty, definitions of basic parameters and characteristics (properties) of the item, information reflecting the technical condition of the given item, information about certification and utilization/salvage of the item, as well as information that is entered during the course of its operation (length and conditions of work, maintenance, repair, and other data).
4.
 Passport A document containing information attesting the manufacturer's warranty, the values of basic parameters and characteristics (properties) of the item, as well as information about certification and utilization/salvage of the item.
5.
 Pressure vessel passport Issued in accordance with PB 10-115-96 for vessels working under pressure. This document is absolutely required for issuing a GOST R COC and obtaining a GGTN Permit.
6.
 Tag A document containing the manufacturer's warranty, the values of basic parameters and characteristics (properties) of the item, information about the item's certification.
7.
 Catalogue of parts and assembly components A document containing a list of parts and assembly units of the items with illustrations and information about their quantity, location in the item, interchangeability, design features, and materials.
8.
 Spare parts usage
norms		 A document containing the names of spare parts for the item and their quantity used for a set quantity of items during the course of their operation.
9.
 Materials usage norms A document containing the names of materials and their quantity used for a set quantity of items during the course of their operation.
10.
 Spare parts, instruments, and
accessories inventory		 A document containing the names, designations, quantities, and storage locations of spare parts, instruments, accessories and materials used during the life time of operation of the item.
11.
 Educational/technical
posters		 Documents containing information about the design of the item, principles of operation, techniques of operation, maintenance.
12.
 Technical documentation
inventory		 A document determining the content and places of storage of technical documentation supplied with the item or separately from it.
